Medical Terminology and Health Careers is a yearlong program open to Junior and Senior students interested in a healthcare related career. The course will give the student a solid foundation in medical terminology.  We will use medical prefixes, roots and suffixes to define medical terms and relate those terms to body structure and function, disease processes and medical procedures.  This course will apply medical terminology to many health related disciplines as well as emphasize correct spelling, pronunciation, and abbreviations.  Each class unit will relate medical terms to associated career paths.  Students will be participating in job shadowing as appropriate within the community.
